Radha Krishna at Prem SarovarPrem Sarovar is a lake of tears, shed by Sri Yugal in the state of Prem Vaichitya (separation-in-union).
Once Radharani was sitting with Krishna in this place, surrounded by the priya-narma sakhas and sakhis. Suddenly a big black bee started hovering over Radharani´s face, thinking it the most beautiful golden lotus. Radharani cried, ¨Help! This black bee is trying to drink nectar from my lips! I think it will sting me! Lalita! Visakha! Protect me!¨ Krishna´s friend Madhumangal grabbed a stick and shooed the bee away. Madhumangal proudly announced, ¨Madhu is gone!¨ Taking ¨Madhu¨ to mean Krishna, Radharani plunged into an ocean of Viraha-rasa. Even though Krishna was right next to her, and his arms were around her, she behaved as if he had left her. Seeing her strange and pathetic bhav, Krishna was overwhelmed. He thought, ¨Radharani loves me so much. Will I ever understand the extent of her prema?¨ Tears flowed from the eyes of Sri Sri Radha-Govinda and their friends like so many rivers, and formed this kunda called Prem Sarovar, the Lake of Love. |
